You want to have a Keyword Density of about 4%. This means that around 4% of n-length phrases in your document match the keyword, where n is the length of your keyword. Thus, for our example of “bowling technique tips”, a good article contains the three-word search term “bowling technique tips” in roughly 4% of the total number of three word phrases in the document.

It’s darn near impossible to check this on your own, and like it states above, this is a round figure. Thus, we suggest that you use a tool that can analyze keyword density. The one that we want to recommend to you is called Textalyser, and we recommend it because this is the best tool out there for checking your keyword density (and because it’s free).

Since the figure is not exact, and there is a little breathing room, you can try to figure it out on your own, but this could cause your article to be rejected. We can’t use keyword articles that contain too many keywords (Google considers these spam) or articles that use too few keywords (Google considers these irrelevant). Thus, you need to be careful when utilizing keywords on your own. Take the extra step, and use the tool, and you’ll be fine.
